I haven't been able to get the time together to take a nice set of Christmas photos this year, so I'm commemorating this rare lapse by posting my Christmas shoots from 1998-2006 on my site tomorrow. Well, except for 2004. I think I skipped that year, too. I'm also missing one! Do you remember the Christmas shoot I did with Holly? Watch for an update on ElliNude.com is the next couple days, something very Christmasy is in the works!! :) A quick update: It looks like we found the perfect place to live! Now it's just up to the finger crossing to hope our application is accepted! Christmas is going well! My baking this year is being well-received! I finally decided what to get mom for Christmas! For the first time ever we're having non-family members at our family Christmas dinner! Yay! Exciting! (that's tonight) Oh, and I got engaged :) MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE!! Tonight Old Man Winter is blowing his first (and hopefully worst) on Vancouver, BC. We're ready for 15-30cm, depending on elevation and location. The city has hunkered down in hushed expectation and excitement. Will people get the day off work tomorrow? Or will the snow plows and gravel trucks get deployed in time? Who knows? And I have to add that I am SO GLAD I don't live in Alberta, which has been enjoying record lows of -40C recently. Cheers! (7 Comments |Comment on this)

elligirl	11:00p	So that was a piece of shit The house we looked at today, I mean. Granted, the price was low so I wasn't expecting the world. But I'll put it this way: the current tenants met us at the door before the landlord arrived and said that they wouldn't have moved in at all had they known all the problems. A short list: - no heat in two bedrooms - various electrical sockets either have no power or are so loose that plugs fall out of them - no plug at all (no CFI) in the bathroom - the backyard fence fell down and apparently was repaired by the tenant's cousin - the laminate floors were done so badly that the slats were crooked with huge gaps between them - the back deck stairs were of varying depths so they tended to induce a nasty trip halfway up - the back yard was lower than the neighbours' so it flooded 6-8"deep in bad weather Above all else, they said the land lord was difficult to deal with. That sealed the deal for us. If we're going to live somewhere, we need to be able to get along with the people around us. So the search continues. We're not in a big rush and we're very picky, so this could take a while. Bring on the egg nog! (Comment on this)

elligirl	9:01p	Tonight's Roast It turned out lovely! Before our trip to Mexico, we made a Costco run and picked up a few beef roasts to stock the freezer with. Well, the one I cooked today turned out *far* better than the one I cooked before the rest were frozen. Weird, since I had been convinced it was a bad cut and didn't have very high expectations. Tomorrow we're looking at a new place. This place is getting a bit old and we're needing a change of scenery. So tomorrow we've made an appointment to see a new house about 20 minutes away. I'm not getting my hopes up too high. The pictures I've seen of the outside are less than encouraging, but the price is right. So we'll see.
